            Principal, Spring Hill School

Spring Hill Elementary Parents and Families,

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year. Our staff have been diligently working to prepare for the most unique school experience in history. Regardless of the platform, virtual or in-person, our goal is to deliver the best education for each and every student.

Registration Day is right around the corner. Families may register their child on-line at anytime or in-person on August 12th. Those choosing to register online, simply look for the Registration for Returning Students under the Registration & Enrollment tab on our district website. Families may update information, register their child and pay fees virtually.

Others may choose to register in-person where we can assist families through the on-line registration process. The in-person registration will take place at individual buildings to avoid large crowds. Families may register their entire family at one building; if you have a child at SHE and one at WDMS you would only need to register at one building. Those choosing to register in-person are asked to follow the schedule below, again to reduce congestion and large crowds:

    SHE Registration Day:

            Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2020

            Time: 12:00pm-7:00pm

Location: @ Spring Hill Elementary Main Entrance

When can my family register in-person at SHE?

    • 12-1pm Last Names A-D
    • 1-2pm Last Names E-H
    • 2-3pm Last Names I-L
    • 3-4pm Last Names M-P
    • 4-5pm Last Names Q-T
    • 5-6pm Last Names U-Z
    • 6-7pm Open time if assigned time does not work

You and your child(ren) will be guided through the online registration process, make payments, restock lunch accounts, etc.

PICTURES: School pictures will be taken in the Spring Hill Gym. There will be a separate entrance to the gym for students to enter and have their pictures taken. There will be two cameras available for students. We also have a designated picture day in October if the child does not make it on registration day. Those who register online or in-person are welcome to stop in, enter the GYM doors for your picture.

Masks/face coverings are required to enter and move throughout the building, and social distancing measures will be adhered to. Students entering the gym for pictures will need to wear a mask, but may remove it once at the camera, then place the mask on again after the picture is taken. Please try and limit the number of people within your family present at registration.

Tours Upon Request:  We understand families, especially new families and our younger students, may want a sneak peak at their classroom. Since our Open House will most likely be in a virtual format, we will offer tours with small groups upon request. Staff will be available at the main entrance to help guide families in the registration process and take those requests. Please note our 4th and 5th grade classroom are under construction and therefore will not be available for tours.

Any questions regarding registration day, please contact Mrs. Torres in our main office at (608) 253-2468 ext 3102.

Regarding the start of the school year, the Board of Education has decided to offer two options for families based on their comfort level at this time. Families may choose either in-person learning with precautions 5 days per week OR virtual learning 5 days per week. Families were asked to complete a survey stating which option they would like so that we can begin creating class sections/lists and allow our teachers to begin communicating with their students/families. If you have not completed the survey please do so as soon as possible. Follow this link to fill out the survey

Once we are able to create our sections and class lists, your child’s teacher can begin reaching out to families. Those choosing in-person, please note that the Board of Education is allowing principals to gradually return students within the first few weeks in order to assist students in learning new protocols. More details on which students will start on which days before we are “all in” will be communicated in the next few weeks. Please check our school website for updates. If you would like further assistance I can be reached at jennis@sdwd.k12.wi.us or (608) 253-2468 ext 2111.
