Public School Open Enrollment

  • Parents have a right to request their children attend a different school district other than where they reside through the Public School Open Enrollment (Public School Choice) program. The Open Enrollment program allows students outside the School District of Wisconsin Dells to enroll in our schools without paying tuition. The alternative open enrollment application window for the 2022-23 school year opened July 1, 2022. Applications and more information are available below in the Resources section.

We are not approving (alternative) open enrollment applications for students with special needs (including speech/language) or pending evaluations for the 2022-23 school year due to a lack of space.

    DPI Open Enrollment Information

The regular open enrollment application window for the 2022-23 school year is February 1, 2022 - April 29, 2022. That window is now closed. However, another opportunity exists for parents to apply for open enrollment beginning July 1, 2022 for the 2022-23 school year. This is known as Alternative Open Enrollment. The difference is that applications are accepted outside of the regular February-April timeframe. Applications will be available on the DPI website starting July 1. Applications will also be available on this webpage, and paper copies will be available at Central Office at 811 County Road H in Wisconsin Dells. Office hours are Monday-Friday throughout the year, 8am-4:30pm. All alternative open enrollment applications must be submitted to Central Office.

  • Open Enrollment Available Spaces for the 2022-23 School Year

On January 10, 2022, the Board of Education approved a limited number of open enrollment spaces for regular education for Grades 4K through 8th Grade. There are no open enrollment spaces available for Grades 9-12 for 2022-23. Due to a lack of space, the school board also approved zero open enrollment spaces for students requiring special education (including speech/language).
