Parents have a right to request their children attend a different school district other than where they reside through the Public School Open Enrollment (Public School Choice) program. The Open Enrollment program allows students outside the School District of Wisconsin Dells to enroll in our schools without paying tuition. The alternative open enrollment application window for the 2021-22 school year is open July 1, 2021, through the end of the 2021-22 school year. Applications and more information are available below in the Resources section.
We are not approving (alternative) open enrollment applications for 7th grade students or students with special needs or pending evaluations for the 2021-22 school year.
DPI Open Enrollment Information
The regular open enrollment application window for the 2021-22 school year is February 1, 2021 - April 30, 2021. That window is now closed. However, another opportunity exists for parents to apply for open enrollment beginning July 1, 2021 for the 2021-22 school year. This is known as Alternative Open Enrollment. The only difference is that applications are accepted outside of the regular February-April timeframe. Applications will be available on the DPI website starting July 1. Applications will also be available on this webpage, and paper copies will be available at Central Office at 811 County Road H in Wisconsin Dells. Office hours are Monday-Friday throughout the year, 8am-4:30pm. All alternative open enrollment applications must be submitted to Central Office.
Due to lack of space for the 2021-22 school year, we are not able to approve (alternative) open enrollment applications for the following:
All students with special needs or pending evaluations (includes speech and language)
All 7th grade students
Space is limited. This list may grow as spaces are filled.
