Federal law requires schools receiving Title I funds to hold annual meetings in which they review prior year goals and create new ones for the next school year. All are invited to these meetings (typically held in May) including teachers, administrators, parents, board members, and the community at large. Below are the SDWD Title I Goals and Actions for 2025-26:
Lake Delton Elementary School
Goal Theme: Community Building
Community Goal #1: Expand upon the positive strides made in family engagement
Goal #1 Action Step #1: Celebrate student and family diversity in the school community
Goal #1 Action Step #2: Host a math and reading event for families/community
Community Goal #2: Promote literacy in the community
Goal #2 Action Step #1: Organize book giveaways throughout the school year to promote literacy at home with the family
Goal #2 Action Step #2: Work with the library (public and school) to create and promote literacy events in both the school and community

Literacy Goal #1: Educate parents and staff on reading fluency and vocabulary
Goal #1 Action Step #1: Attend and facilitate fluency and vocabulary professional learning opportunities
Goal #1 Action Step #2: Title teachers will meet with regular education teachers 3x per school year to collaborate, review data, and discuss how to best support students based on the 3rd Essential Question: What Do We Do if Students Don’t Know (the content)?
Literacy Goal #2: Assess the literacy curriculum
Goal #2 Action Step #1: Attend and facilitate Science of Reading Professional Development opportunities.
Goal #2 Action Step #2: Evaluate current building resources for effectiveness under ACT 20 and Science of Reading.

Spring Hill Elementary School
Goal Theme: Community Building
Community Goal #1: To promote mental health awareness
Goal #1 Action Step #1: Utilizing the Guidance program and new curriculum (Character Strong) to meet the social and emotional well-being of all students
Goal #1 Action Step #2: Support teachers with implementation of Morning Meeting incorporating the monthly SEL character trait
Community Goal #2: To improve family engagement
Goal #2 Action Step #1: Offer a variety of days and times for family events along with trying to bring back morning family breakfasts (Fall and Spring/Evening and Morning; perhaps on an Early Release Day)
Goal #2 Action Step #2: Promote and advertise events in multiple languages by sending reminders, phone calls, and using social media and utilizing Talking Points with all families

Literacy Goal #1: Build our literacy curriculum and support teachers in meeting Act 20 requirements
Goal #1 Action Step #1: Provide targeted professional development to teachers in core literacy/science- aligned instruction - fluency, phonemic awareness, phonics, orthographic mapping etc.
Goal #1 Action Step #2: Title/EL/SPED will utilize early release mornings to meet once a trimester to collaborate about the 3rd Essential Question: What Do We Do if Students Don’t Know (the content)?
