Sunday, February 5, 2023 SDWD Weekly Building Updates
Hello SDWD Families,
Another busy week in the books and another one this week as well. This week our elementary and middle school students will begin to participate in the Math 24 competition. This will take place on Tuesday, February 7th and good luck to all students participating! Thank you to our teachers and instructional coaches for their efforts in coordinating these learning events.
Our high school students are beginning to think about courses for next year and I encourage parents and caregivers to be engaged in the course students select for their future. It's also a good time to converse about what each student may wish to do in the future whether it's entering the workforce, pursuing an apprenticeship in a trade, attending technical college or a four-year university all require good skills to be successful.
Lastly, to close out the introductory theme of another busy week our middle and high school student athletes will see plenty of competitions and this week begins the start of the winter tournament series with the wrestling team heading to Richland Center High School on Saturday, February 11, 2023, to participate in the newly formatted super regional event. The top four qualifiers at each weight class will return the following week to WDHS to participate in sectional wrestling and look to punch their ticket to the state tournament. Good luck to not only the wrestlers and coaches this week but to all those participating in the aforementioned activities. Staying busy certainly helps the winter months pass us by more quickly!
Have a great week everyone!
Respectfully,
Mr. Slack
