    Mrs. Brown

If one was not already aware, Mrs. Brown has authorized me to share on the announcements that her husband Larry passed away last Friday after fighting cancer for a couple of years. Funeral arrangements are as follows:

A memorial gathering will be held this Sunday from 2pm-5pm at Picha Funeral home in Lake Delton with a eulogy at 4:00pm. This will be followed by a celebration of life at Monks at the Wilderness 5:30pm-7:30pm. We request a written favorite memory or picture of Larry to be brought to the wake.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Brown and her family. She has told me several times that she loves working here and the support of people in the high school has been critical in keeping her spirits up. She will probably take some time before returning to work but would love to hear from students and staff in the meantime. She is checking her school email so don’t hesitate to reach out to her via that method.

    Caps for a Cause

Caps for a Cause is back!  The Anne Herbert Society is taking over this fundraising activity for the year, and the first installment begins this coming Friday.  The rules are simple -- you pay $1 (or more) to a good cause, and in exchange you get a sticker.  Put that sticker somewhere on your hat, and you are allowed to wear a hat all day long!  (Please note this applies to hats ONLY, and NOT to hoods.)  Proceeds from Friday's event will be given to Mrs. Brown and her family.  We hope you'll join us.

    Anne Herbert Society

"The Anne Herbert Society wishes to thank all students who participated in our recent poll regarding the teachers who made a difference in their lives.  While all teachers received votes, the ballots have been tallied and the results are in!  The top three vote-getters for First Quarter are:  Mrs. Fults, Mrs. Franz, and Mr. Neilsen!  Congratulations to those teachers -- a certificate suitable for framing will be coming to you soon!  And students, please vote again next Monday for those who made a difference among the administration and staff!"

GSA will be meeting during both lunches/ASP's today. FlexiSched has options open for both freshmen and upperclassmen to sign up. If you have any questions, please double-check the Google Classroom page or see Ms. Forshee in Room 303.

Don’t forget to being in any gently used winter gear to support families in our community and remember that the top ASP will win an ice cream party. The drive runs through next Monday.

    Vine Street Market Expectations

We are going to review the expectations for the Market. After some additional discussion with the Market volunteers, we also have some new expectations. The Market is open from 2-4pm Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri.

    • Students are not to go down during passing periods nor are they to linger and wait for the market to open. The volunteers have been instructed to lock the door during these times and starting immediately the market will remain closed for the first ten minutes of the hour.
    • Anyone who does NOT ride a bus should go to the market after school, not during classes.
    • Volunteers will ask to see a pass from a faculty member for shoppers in the Market during class time. No pass=No Shop.
    • Students should not be coming back to classrooms with large quantities of food. If eating is permitted by the teacher, one can bring a snack for oneself but not a group snack. Anything else should be stored in lockers.
    • Students riding buses, eating is not allowed on the bus. All food should remain stowed for the duration of the ride.
