***Important Message about the Spring Hill Elementary School Homepage (updated October 24, 2013)***
Welcome to the Spring Hill Elementary School Website. Before one explores the links ot the left, it is important to inform visitors that the School District of Wisconsin Dells is currently in the process of transitioning to a new website host provider. This process has been underway since the summer and unfortunately was not able to be completed prior to the start of the year. It is anticipated at this time that the new website will go live at some point in December 2013.
One of the reasons for moving to a new provider is to work with a site that is faster and easier for staff to update. Ultimately the goal will be a website that is updated with greater frequency so that anyone can access timely and accurate information. In the meantime, the links to the left will not be updated until the new website is unveiled. However, many of the links are still current and contain relevant information of interest about our school and what we do. Please note that we may leave some of the outdated information in place to provide a template for constructing middle school pages in the new website.
These links are active and/or accurate:
Spring Hill Elem Calendar - The School District of Wisconsin Dells and all of the schools in the South Central Conference subscribe to rSchool Today as the official sports calendar provider. We also use rSchool to schedule and display non-athletic events in the school district, including elementary school events.
Spring Hill Elem Counseling - Mrs. Nelson, our 4K-4th Grade counselor, has provided numerous links and resources for students and parents on a variety of topics.
Spring Hill Elem Parent Info - The links are updated/accurate.
Spring Hill Elem Library and Media Center - This site is operated by the LMC staff and will be updated in the new website.
These links are not active and/or acccurate:
Spring Hill Elem Staff - The Teaching Staff and Support Staff links are only accurate for employees active prior to this school year. New staff will be added in the new website. For an updated listing of staff and telephone extensions, please use this link: 2013-14 SHES Staff
Most of these same links will be transferred to the new site or updated when the new site is unveiled.
Finally, I want to conclude by saying that schools have a critically significant job we take very seriously, and that is to provide a safe environment for all students so that an optimum learning experience can take place. In support of this mission, we have many vital initiatives that I will highlight in my section of the monthly newsletter. For those people interested in receiving more frequent updates, I would direct one to my Tumblr Blog, where I will share the daily announcements to staff and students as well as material from the weekly staff bulletins. My intent with the blog is to offer the public some insights into the internal conversations we have here about how to best educate students and manage a building of this size and population. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that our students are College and Career ready when they graduate from Wisconsin Dells High School. The blog can be found at: http://hwgaston.tumblr.com/. Please check it out and provide comments and/or feedback.
Hugh Gaston, Principal
